Week 25:

this week Maddie tried green beans for the first time….not a hit with her. If we had the camcorder going, it would have been a $10,000 winner. She had the most horrible look on her face and she would make herself gag…it was pretty funny. I am hoping that she is not going to be a picky eater. She is very content on eating what mommy has on tap! This week has started to sleep about 8-9 hours through the night. I still am getting up every couple of hours to check on her, though. Does a mom ever get a full nights rest????? We went to her cousin dylan’s 5th birthday party and got to see nena, pops, nite-nite and aunt izzy. Happy Birthday Dylan!!!

Maddie's Dedication Day!

Today was Maddie's Dedication Day! We had a wonderful turn out with all of her family. She also had 3 of her great grandparents present......she is a lucky girl! The ceremony was short and sweet, but very meaningful. She looked very beautiful in her dress, too!

"In the mornings when Maddie awakes, it is always with the sweetest smile on her face. We are constantly reminded how lucky we are that God chose us to be her parents and what a blessed gift she is. He placed Maddie's life in our hands, so we pledge to honor that blessing by raising her as a loving, compassionate, forgiving and god fearing person."

Week 24:

***NEWSFLASH***Maddie has officially moved out of mommy and daddy’s room and has a new address……. her nursery! I can’t remember how many times I went to check on her the first night, and each time she was sound asleep. In fact, she slept so good in her new bed, her little eyes were puffy the next morning. I do have to admit that I miss her being so close…… these days she is chewing on anything she can get her mouth on with her two new choppers! She is also getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. She will do that for a little bit and then fall over. Soon enough she will be crawling to the fridge to get her own teething ring! Maddie never ceases to amaze me…..she is such a magical little person !

Week 23:

Happy New Year, Maddie! Maddie’s first new year’s eve was very low key. We went to lunch at uncle reggie’s house and then dinner with aunt april and her family. Along with the new year came new teeth. she is teething and chewing on anything she can get her mouth on…but still being a good sport with a smile on her face. she has found her tongue and has been sticking it out and making funny faces with it. Kevin, aunt izzy’s boyfriend, is leaving tonight for camp Shelby. He will be there for a couple of months before leaving for iraq…..we will miss you Kevin and keep you in our prayers everynight!

Week 22:

well, Maddie had a very merry Christmas! Santa was very good to her…I have never seen so many presents for a baby! This, by far, was the best Christmas for me because Maddie was a part of it. Along with all the gifts, he brought Maddie and mommy and cold for Christmas. I guess it doesn’t matter how much you try and keep your child away from germs, some tend to sneak In. this was her first cold and it has been miserable for the little girl. Although, she has been very congested and coughing, she has still kept a smile on her sweet face. as you have read in the two prior posts, Maddie has 2 teeth that have come in on the bottom gums. I can’t believe that she is already getting teeth…amazing how fast she is growing up!

Scratch the 1 tooth...make that 2!

Ok, Maddie was giving me "kisses" today and it felt different from the other day. I felt around on her gums and she has ANOTHER tooth coming in next to her other one. At this rate, she will be eating a steak dinner for her 6 month birthday!

Maddie's 1st tooth!

NEWSFLASH.....Maddie has gotten her 1st tooth! She was sucking on my finger tonight and I felt something rough on her bottom gum. I took a look and sure enough her first tooth has broken the surface. Are babies supposed to be geting teeth this early??? I guess I'm gonna have to get used to her little smile not being "gummy" anymore......Yeah Maddie and her new "pearly white!"

Week 21:

happy 5 months Maddie! I can’t believe that it has been 5 months since little Maddie has come into our lives…the time has flown by! I also can’t believe that in a couple of days Christmas will be here. We sat Maddie down in front of the tree this week and she went straight for the ribbons on the packages ( sorry if your present has Maddie slobber on it). Wade said that we were not going to go over board this year with gifts for Maddie because she is so young…well, let me say this, first baby and first Christmas, you can’t help but to go over board with giftsJ. Wade, Maddie and I wish everyone a very merry Christmas! I know ours will be extra special this year because we have been given the best gift in the world….maddie moore!

Week 20:

I want to take this time to talk about how amazing our little girl is. This past week I have been taking mental notes on how much she has grown up in the last 4.5 months. She is sitting up by herself, she picks up anything she can get her little hands on, she can hold a bottle by herself, she loves to talk her baby talk, and she has a permanent grin on her sweet face. Some days I wish that I could freeze time and keep her this age forever…then I think about the day when she is talking and says, “I love you “for the 1st time. I never imagined that the sight of little piggies (her toes) would bring a tear to my eye. It is true what everyone says about them growing up fast…I can’t believe that next week, maddie will be 5 months old. I am truly the luckiest girl in the world! Oh, and if you haven’t experienced a “Maddie kiss” yet, it is kind of slobbery, but it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and heart!

Maddie's 1st visit to the North Pole

Week 19:

this week maddie has found out that her feet make a better pacifier than sucking on her hand. She constantly has her little feet in her mouth now, which makes it difficult to change her diaper. Right now it is so cute, but I am hoping that it is just a phase and she grows out of it before she becomes a pre-teen. We went to see santa this week and she had a ball. The girl at the counter said that it is very rare for a child this age not to cry and to have a smile on their face with santa. Maddie is such a happy baby and always smiling. The best is when she wakes up in the morning and sees you for the first time and she gets a huge smile on her face…..my heart melts every morning!

Maddie put her foot in her mouth.....literally!

I was getting Maddie's bath ready tonight and Wade walked in a said, "Babe, Maddie has her foot in her mouth." I came out of the bathroom and sure enough, she had her foot in her
mouth just a sucking and smacking. Thank goodness the camera was near! These are the kind of pictures that she will die when we bring out to show her "future boyfriends!"

week 18:

little miss maddie has had a lot to say this week. She is starting to be very vocal and loves to talk, talk, talk. It is a mixture of gurgles, yells and baby jibber jabber. We started watching a sign language dvd that my mom gave to maddie….maybe this way she can tell me what’s on her mind before she is able to voice it. She is full of smiles and full of drool, these days!

Week 17:

this week was maddie’s 4 month birthday and her first thanksgiving! She celebrated her birthday with a rice cereal dinner with mommy and daddy. Needless to say, she wasn’t too thrilled with the menu….when I put the cereal to her lips, she would make a funny face and then spit it out. This holiday was very special to us because last thanksgiving we told our families that we were expecting a new addition to our family and this year she was here. God has blessed me with a beautiful baby girl, a loving husband and a wonderful family! We are all thankful that maddie is here and a part of our lives.

Week 16:

maddie had her 4 month check-up this week and she is weighing in at 15lbs 12oz and is 26in long. The Dr. said that she is going to be a tall girl. I really had no doubt about that considering her mommy and daddy are both tall. Let’s re-cap what all maddie is doing these days….she can roll over both ways; holds her head up and sits up all by herself when sitting in your lap; she pulls herself up when she holds on to your fingers; she is laughing and smiling 24/7; when you stand her up, she is putting weight on her feet and straightening her legs out; she is putting anything and everything in her mouth…..watch out for your fingers! So, in a nutshell, she is doing everything a baby her age should be doing and also some things a little more advanced. What can I say……she is a pretty perfect little angel!

Week 15:

I almost thought that the time had come for baby maddie to leave the nest and move on to bigger and better things……a.k.a. her own room. She had slept all the way through the night for 3 nights in a row and then came daylight savings time and messed all of that up. So she is still hanging out in mommy and daddy’s room for the time being. As bad as this probably sounds, I am kind of glad that she has started waking up more in the night. It makes me sad to think of her in her big room all by her little self. Right now I can sit up in bed and look at her in her pac-n-play, hear her when she is having a sweet dream and laughs in her sleep, and know when she rolls over. I don’t know who it will be harder on when she makes that big move……maddie or mommy.

Maddie, My Sweetest Heart

My Sweetest Heart in all the world
I think of you each day
I love you so much
More and more everyday

When you wake each morning
Your smile is all I see
My heart is filled with joy
You mean so much to me

You fill my days with love
And feelings I can’t explain
I hope you feel my heart
And know I’ll never be the same

The day I knew you were true
And growing safe inside me
I promised to do the best I could
To always make you happy

We shared one body for so long
And have a bond no one can break
My heart is yours forever
Not anyone else’s to take

How did I get so blessed
That God picked me for you
I am so very lucky
My Sweetest Heart – I love you!

-Mommy

Week 14:

this week maddie has found her voice and enjoys using it. She will let out a high pitched “yelp” followed by some jibber jabber. I’m not really sure what she is trying to get across to me, but I know that it must be very important! She is also laughing a lot at things. Her laugh is kind of low pitched and “raspy.” It is the cutest thing in the world to hear and you can’t help but laugh along with her! For a 3 month old she sure has a very busy social calendar. This week she attended her cousin’s birthday party, went to the pumpkin patch, went trick-or-treating and had a play date with her other cousin. It’s hard keeping all of her engagements in order….she’s a baby in high demand!!!
