Beauty and the Beach 2009

Maddie made her 1st venture to the beach this month. We went to Destn for a week with Wade,

myself, Kamee. Poppa, Kelli, Korbi and Kadie! We had a great trip! Maddie LOVED the sand, beach and the waves! She also learned how to swim under the water and hold her breath! She is totally our little mermaid in any kind of water (i.e. lake, pool or ocean)! The day we were packing up and leaving she was waving to the beach, blowing kisses and saying," Luv jew beach...miss you!" Now, any body of water is the "beach!" We are already looking forward to our next trip to the beach next year:)

Party, Party, Party!!!!

We had Maddie's 2nd Birthday Party at the Wonder Place this year! She shared this event with all of her favorite family and friends! There was plenty of pink cake, presents, peeps and lots of giggles! I still can't believe that she is 2 (with MUCH attitude)! I can't wait to see what the future holds with this little firecracker!

A Taste of Summer 2009

D-D-D-D-D-DORA!!!!

Maddie attended her 1st children's show at Robinson.....Dora the Explorer! She was so excited about seeing "Doe-Doe" and "Boots!" She was up dancing, singing and yelling when "Swiper" came out. Unfortunately, she woke up around 6 am that morning and the show was at 10:30 am. I knew that there was a possibility for a "sleepy meltdown" at some time. She made it until intermission and when the 2nd part of the started, she came apart in the aisles. "Bye bye" Dora we said as we hurried out the door! She made it to the car and passed out!

Got Potty???

Ok, due to the nature of the subject, I can't post an actual picture of the subject (actually, I was in the shower when this happened tonight, so I didn't have my camera). Maddie went "tee-tee" in her "big girl" potty! I was in the shower and Wade was about to put Maddie in there with me and asked her if she wanted to go potty! She sat on her potty and went! We have been working with her for a while now (notice the bite mark out of the seat???). Hopefully she is on the road to "big girl panties!" But if not, I'm o.k. with it, because I already miss my baby Maddie......she has grown up way too fast....and no more diapers mean she is a little girl........

"Why Mommy?"

Ok, so Maddie is only 22.5 months old and already questioning "Mommy." All I can say is that Wade and I are going to have our hands full with this little firecracker! The other day I told her something and she said, "Why mommy?" I finally got to use the one thing that I heard growing up my whole life......"Because Mommy said so!!" Maddie crossed her arms and said, Gosh, Mommy!" I about fell over laughing! One of her other "Maddieism's" is....."are you kidding me Mommy???"

"Ima Woksta!"

The other night I finally opened one of Maddie's Christmas presents (it was a 3+ toy) which was a "Sing-A-Long Microphone." Ok, all I have to say is that I have a video tape of the next "American Idol!" She was a natural with the "mic" and sang for over an hour.....right out the bathtub with nothing on but a diaper! Her daddy said, "Maddie! You're a Rockstar!" Her response was, "IMA WOKSTA!" Complete with her arm in the air just like Elvis! Keep your eye out for this little performer :)

"Pitty"

Ok, Maddie is saying more and more funny things these days, so a lot of my future postings will be about her fuuny "Maddieism's!" The other morning I was getting Maddie dressed in a new hot pink t-shirt. She started rubbing the front of her shirt and said, " Oh, pitty mommy!" I said, Oh, yes Maddie, you are very pretty!"
